Heather is a recovery and service advocate in the addiction community within Loudoun County. Heather took part in the Community Health Needs Assessment- Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Access to Primary Care Committee that works regularly with the local government and other community nonprofit partners to address significant community health needs identified through the CHNA process. These groups include the Loudoun Health Department, Federally Qualified Health Centers, the Community Services Board and other government entities, and community nonprofit partners.
Heather also served as the Chair for the PI/CPC (Public Information/Cooperation with the Professional Community) for Loudoun District 10 Alcoholics Anonymous where she worked closely with community professionals and the public on educating them about the services of Alcoholic Anonymous and carrying the message of recovery under GSO Guidelines and the 12 Traditions of Alcoholic Anonymous.
Heather holds service positions within her 12 Step Recovery Program and is a recovery community liaison for women incarcerated at Loudoun County Detention Center. Heather is completing her Peer Recovery Specialist Certification for the State of Virginia and working to obtain her master’s degree in Addiction Counseling at Liberty University.
Heather resides in Ashburn and enjoys spending time with her two teenage sons, family and friends.
